This is a model of a naval ship, a model we tested in a world class Tow-Tank facility, where we actually implemented two tests in one.
Here is the Underside of the model, showing that all the resistances are grouped into one layer of water lubrication which also alters the signature of the hull into the created trochoidal wave the ship rides over, “Surfing Forward” with better directional stability and sharper turning capability plus anti-rolling improvement, all of which are superior efficiency for the hull.

Just to add, that the combined test was to try and lift the ship as well as see the effective benefit of the Open Cavity under the hull channeling all resistances into beneficial water lubrication and effective acoustic-signature strait down without side detection of the ship, as additional defence advantage.
